Who we are

Biased is an online sewing pattern marketplace operated by Biased, LLC registered in Idaho, United States. By using Biased, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

Using Biased

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for any activity that takes place under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the platform.

Buying Patterns

When you purchase a pattern on Biased, you are purchasing a personal, non-commercial license to use that pattern. This means you may:

• Download and print the pattern for your own personal use
• Sew and sell a reasonable number of finished garments made from the pattern

You may not:

• Redistribute, resell, or share the pattern file
• Upload the pattern to any other platform
• Use the pattern for large-scale commercial manufacturing
• Claim the pattern as your own work

Each designer may have additional licensing terms on their listing. Those terms apply alongside these.

Selling Patterns

Designers accepted onto Biased agree to the following:

• You own the rights to everything you upload, or have permission to sell it
• Your patterns meet the quality standards outlined during the application process
• You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings, including sizing, instructions, and file formats

Biased takes a 5% commission on every sale. Stripe's standard processing fees apply separately.

Payouts are processed monthly. Biased reserves the right to withhold payment in cases of dispute or suspected fraud.

Biased may remove listings that no longer meet our standards, with notice where possible.

Intellectual Property

All patterns sold on Biased remain the intellectual property of their respective designers. Biased does not claim ownership of any pattern content uploaded by designers.

The Biased name, logo, and site design are owned by Biased LLC and may not be used without permission.

Refunds & Disputes

Because sewing patterns are digital downloads, all sales are final once a file has been downloaded. Exceptions may be made at our discretion in cases of:

• A file that is corrupted or fails to download
• A listing that materially misrepresents the pattern

If you have a dispute with a purchase, contact us at info@shopbiased.com and we will work to resolve it fairly.

Limitation of Liability

Biased is a marketplace platform. We are not responsible for the quality, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of individual patterns beyond our curation standards. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant transaction.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Idaho, United States. For users in the UK or EU, nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a notice on the site. Continued use of Biased after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
